Biography
An explosive opening batter and a fearless hitter of the ball, his heroics for Sussex in the shortest format of the game earned him his maiden call-up for England in 2019. Salt had to wait until 2021 though, to make his first appearance for the national team.
Despite being born in Wales, Salt grew up in Barbados. Showing interest and potential in football in his early days, Salt shifted to cricket in his childhood. Salt’s first major breakthrough came when he smashed two hundreds in the Championship and helped Sussex to the Blast final in August 2018.
Talent-spotted by Lahore Qalandars in 2018, who wanted him in their team for the Abu Dhabi T20 trophy, Islamabad United swooped to sign him in the PSL draft instead. Salt then went from strength to strength, notching up appearances in the CPL and the BBL.
Salt has one hundred and four half-centuries to his name for England in the 50-over and the 20-over formats in his relatively short career so far.
